Dr. Lisa Goldfarb  

 

Dr. Lisa Goldfarb is a psychiatrist board-certified in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. She received her BS from MIT and her MD from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, completed psychiatry residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, completed an Addiction Psychiatry fellowship at NYU, and completed psychoanalytic training at Columbia University. She is in private practice and teaches and mentors in the NYU residency program, including serving for eight years as Director of the NYU House Staff Mental Health Service.

 

Her clinical interests include trauma, addiction, and complex mood disorders. She trained with Laurel Parnell in Attachment-Focused EMDR and incorporates EMDR into her work, and she is completing Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing training (advanced level). She teaches in Columbia University’s Trauma-Informed Psychodynamic Therapies Program and has lectured on “The Trauma Cycle” and “What Is EMDR?” at the 2025 AAAP meeting.

3. Be familiar with Bilateral Stimulation 
4. Understand 8 Phases of the EMDR treatment
5. Describe Resource Development and installation
