Pdf Summary
The study analyzed online forum posts on Reddit to examine the subjective experiences of "candyflipping," which refers to the combined use of LSD and MDMA. Out of 119 posts found, 39 were included in the analysis. The effects reported by users who engaged in candyflipping were compared to those who used only LSD or MDMA.

The findings showed that candyflippers reported visual enhancement and hallucinations similar to LSD users but higher than MDMA users. They also reported more euphoria and feeling of universal connection compared to both LSD and MDMA users alone. Additionally, candyflippers reported experiencing ego death more frequently than LSD or MDMA users, and they had similar levels of internal insight.

On the other hand, candyflippers and MDMA users reported fewer thought loops than LSD users, and candyflippers and MDMA users reported less depersonalization than LSD users.

The study suggests that combining MDMA with LSD may address some of LSD's side effects and enhance its psychotropic qualities. This combination could potentially be useful in therapeutic settings, especially given the growing interest in LSD-based therapies for psychiatric conditions.

The study acknowledges limitations in using data from online forums, such as selection bias and self-report issues. However, forum posts provide readily available and useful data to examine subjective experiences of recreational candyflippers.

Overall, the study highlights the need for further research on candyflipping in controlled settings, including randomized controlled trials with varied drug administration factors. The findings have implications for understanding the effects of combining LSD and MDMA and its potential therapeutic use.
